A personal selection of our favourite places — from the port-front tables of Sainte-Maxime to the glamour of Saint-Tropez. These are the spots we return to every summer.
Directly on the port with wonderful food and attentive service. Slightly more formal — perfect for a special evening.
Relaxed Mediterranean restaurant with excellent food, cocktails and friendly staff.
Popular Italian, great for families and pizza takeaway on the way home.
Famous for its parmesan tagliatelle — an absolute must. Set around the Hotel Le Yaca pool courtyard.
Superb Japanese restaurant within the Byblos hotel grounds. A Riviera favourite.
Sand-floored restaurant directly on the St Tropez port — beautiful views of the yachts.
Prao Plage is our favourite on the Nartelle beach — great food, great music, and attentive staff. La Voile is perfect for dinner with a wonderful setting. Le Wyc is another family-friendly favourite on the same stretch.
The iconic local patisserie on the waterfront boulevard is open daily from 06:30. Do not leave Sainte-Maxime without trying one. Five-minute parking directly outside.
Barbarac — a legendary St Tropez artisanal ice cream shop. Also excellent: Amorino off the main square and Aux Parfums d'Italie on the beach promenade.
Our favourite beach — nearly 800m of sandy shore, free parking, family atmosphere and water sports. Prao Plage beach club is right here.
Just 15 minutes by ferry from the port. Explore the medieval village, the port, and the famous Pampelonne beach — home to Club 55.
Water Glisse Passion has six local centres for sailing, windsurfing, parasailing and more. Aqualand water parks in Sainte-Maxime and Fréjus for the kids.
Grimaud, Ramatuelle, Gassin (listed most beautiful village in France), St Paul de Vence, Eze, Monaco, Cannes — all within easy reach.
Europe's Grand Canyon — dramatic turquoise gorges perfect for hiking, kayaking and rock climbing. A spectacular day out inland.
Golf, horse-riding, go-karting, jet-boating — the tourist office can arrange almost anything. The region has activities for all ages and interests.
